I hope you read my “Top 10 Sports Books I would like to Read” post on this blog. I have decided to go ahead and start reading the Kobe Code which I put at number one on that list. The reasons were simple – he has enormous charisma and achieved almost unparalleled success.

Last week, I finished reading the first two chapters or the first two principles in this case, “Have a Gladiator Mentality and Welcome All Challenges” and “Know What Fuels You, What Drives You”. That right there is pretty impressive and something that everybody can learn from whether this economy has been harsh to you or your undergoing some sort of change in your life whether it is family-related or your just moving between jobs.
If your don’t want to spend the $12.99 on Amazon to get it (the Kindle price is $4.99, by the way), you could take a look at three of the chapters on Google Books online. But some of the pages are missing. Still, it is a great read. I was able to learn the reasons why Kobe is so driven in the second chapter which a lot of people may struggle to understand given his privileged childhood and being the son of a former NBA player – Joe “Jellybean” Bryant - who made a pretty good living out of it too.
I have been enjoying reading it so far and it has given insights into this global superstar. Some of these insights I already knew having followed him for a good part of my life, but it helped reconfirm them. Look for more posts covering the rest of the principles in the coming weeks!
